I did the Introduction to Welding course at Waltham Forest College...and damn fine it was too...lecturer by the name of Gary Brown...ten weeks, approx £170...can sort out the contact info for you if you want...or just pop onto the colleges website...

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was forgetting about evening classes from the good old Floodlight course book. I guess a good book and lots of practice will get me going in the right direction for now.

No problem dude.....you need to contact Gill Brice on either gbrice@waltham.ac.uk or give her a bell on 020 8501 8406. Both courses run three times a year [September to June] and cost approx. £170 each...and they like you to complete the Welding one before the Restoration one...I really did find the Welding course excellent value, and the Resto one was also superb, [covers use of dollies, bumping spoons, welding tears, welding in patches, filler techniques, lead filler, paint prep and loads more....packed to the hilt... ]...the Instructor is Gary Brown and he is also superb, loads of time for pupils and a good laugh too, his thing is old Triumphs, but we let him off...
