How do you remove this breaker?

just note if u remove the copper buzbar and loosen all the mcb screws when u refit make sure all the screws are pushed back then fit the bar they have a nasty habit of coming forward if your screwdriver is a bit magnetic and the conections on the breakers dont clamp up behind the bar

What was wrong with old cartridge fuses anyway? Easy to test and nothing to go wrong.

Yeah and they hardly ever blew when you touched something live
As @brightspark said though check and double check those terminal clamps are behind the bustar tabs!

Nah, rewireable fuses are where it's at if you want to go old-school.

I helped my Dad add some new sockets when I was a teenager. "Right, that should be good to go, you can put the fuse back in now".
Unbeknownst to me there was a dead L-N short in there somewhere. The bang, and the scorch mark, were quite impressive. I even managed not to fall off the step ladder.

apart from getting an 18 way board and nothings marked up and the factoy bollock you if u pull the wrong fuse or the secretarys compp goes off and she hasnt backed it up

The deck jockeys do get a bit flappy when they loose power, they just dont listen or believe you when you tell them the power is going off at some point

I had one guy get a bit upset as he was an hour into writing a report when the power went off and he hadn't saved anything, stupid thing was I'd told him what I was going to do and the board I was working on was about 6 foot from his desk.

We were doing routine maintenance on one of the magnet cranes in the yard at the foundry, pulled the fuses and took them with us for safety, comes break time and we found the wind had blown the crane a few feet down the track so we couldn't get to the access platform we had to wait until another sparky walked through the yard so we could drop the fuses to him to get the crane powered up and drive it back to the access platform.

Hope you told him he should have set the auto recover timer.

Well thanks to the people who mentioned the little clip underneath I have removed the breaker. Kept tripping all the time. Swapped it for a redundant one and working fine. Oh and not even a tingle

As a matter of interest, was the CB the correct version (tripping time, current overload, etc) for the loads on that circuit?

Yes it was. Been in there since 2007 I think.
At first I thought mice may have chewed a cable. Breaker would trip or the rcd or both.

Mmm if the RCD was also tripping I'd say there's a fault somewhere, it's a bit odd for the MCB and RCD to trip if I was just a soft MCB.
Get the cheese out and see what you can catch...

Relatives had a new shower fitted 3 yrars ago. I stayed at theirs for a week earlier this year and the shower kept tripping.
I asked them about it and got told it had been doing it since install.
The trip looked fine bur when I swapped it for an identical replacement the fault went away.

My uneducated guess is gremlins or an oversensitive trip
