how do I go about scrapping a disco with no wheels?

I'm hoping the body doesn't just rip off with the amount of rust

Better idea might be to just cut all the mounting bolts and have them just take the shell .. then I can take the running gear apart easier and move the chassis out my way

There's only a handful of bolts holding the body to the chassis....

A bit late now but it doesn't take much to cut up a shell of a Range Rover / Disco. Done is several times

Rip off all the saleable bits. Cut the rest up pop it on a trailer and take it to the scrap merchant yourself

You could cut that up as well

Is it only the disco that has the round cross member? Seems like the only place the chassis rusts!

Shame about stuff been scrapped, no one wanted the chassis? I've been on the bay loads trying to find a mk1 disco or classic ranger chassis. They seem rare are rocking horse dodah.

The round cross member is rotten it so I can't imagine the rest being much better ..
Couldn't be bothered to strip it down further .. getting collected tomorow morning.

I have one, on a breaker disco, but its

a) still got the rest of the disco attached to it, and
b) mile and miles from where you are

A friend who restores classic RR's put a Disco chassis (with V5) on Eblag with a 99p start price and that's what it sold for

Thats what i was getting at - if plantlife wants to come down here with a trailer, he could have the remains of mine. All im going to do with the chassis is take it to the yard - if someone wanted to pick it up, it would save me the bother.

Its still got bits i want on it at the moment, but, when the weather gets better, ill take them off.

Well that didn't work .. they sent someone with one of those skip lifting trucks, rather than a hiab ... he said it's too awkward to get on with the axles hanging/no wheels ect and if it messes up it'll be stuck lol

Just going to put one of the damaged tyres/ two of my road tyres that didnt have a massive amount of tread on and let it go on the back of a normal truck.
