How did i feel..........DOH

I just had to laugh at myself today,underneath the rear wheel arch of my transit doing some welding when a bit of the old underseal caught alight somehow,now as you do being a little flame you blow it out,well i tried not once but three times then panic set in as the flame got bigger,patted it out with my gloved hand,fire out no probs.
Heres the bit when i got out from under the van i relised you've got your auto mask on you muppet no wonder the blowing didnt put the flame out.
After calling myself a few blue names i hear a voice,"ok there chris",old boy from next door looking over the fence(s***,how longs he been there),"yes fine pete,wont be long need the loo" as i walked up the path.
Anyway,all in all,it made me laugh.

Mate locked his keys in his car,took ages for us to break in through drivers door before realizing the boot was unlocked on his hatchback
In my defense it was after a messy stag weekend

Borrowed a mates caravan once he said it was awkward to light the gas fridge and he wasn't wrong. spent ages lying on my belly peering under the fridge to see when the pilot light fired up,clicking the piezo thing like crazy.finally got it lit and decided to have a walk round the sight to survey the facilities,locked up the van and passing the gas bottle thought I would turn it off for safeties sake,one millisecond later it struck home that the fridge will have gone out.

fitted a new alarm system at work and didnt want to lable the circuit breaker that the alarm was on for obvious reasons. when id finished i made sure all un used (non labled) were switched off hence after the weekend got to work and no alarm

My dad, (bless his soul), who was an engineer-says lots- once drove 1600 miles from Edmonton to Dawson City,Yukon (Canada) to visit me and go hunting. He pulled behind his 3/4 ton pickup a six wheel drive argo all terrain vehicle which could swim, go over tundra, climb mountains, etc, do everything but start. He'd left the bloody key in Edmonton!

It woudn't have been so bad but he had with him a friend from Europe who was a world wide hunter and was depending on my dad to fix him up with a record class moose trophy!

Poor dad, when he realised the key was missing, was ready to drive back to Edmonton to get it!

It took me about two minutes to hot wire the argo. His friend managed to get a moose and I had a freezer full of meat for the winter.

I was in the workshop when the wife came in to tell me she had locked the keys in the car. I went all holier than thou and gave her a lecture and asked if she had a spare in her handbag. She told me her handbag was in the car and she had managed to lock herslef out with the engine running. HaHaHa.....Still being all superior I told her how stupid she was and that she could use my car.

She then told me it WAS my car

My brand new volvo V70 2.4 170 SE that had cost me about £25000.

I cant describe how I felt when the RAC man was bending the doors trying to get to the lock. I had to go indoors.

Kitchen sink drain blocked and I was clever enough to fix that, put a large pan in the cupboard below the drain and dismantled the drain trap, caught all the dirty water and gunge, cleaned the drain trap and tipped the pan into the sink with the drain dismantled. Idiot!!!!!

I was doing a direct access motorcycle course. Stopped for a bit of a debrief with the instructor and thought I would light up and have 'a bit of fresh air'. We got on our bikes to set of again and I whipped the front of my flip front helmet down with fag still in gob ... stung a bit.

Talking of cars with keys locked inside, I had a mate who locked himself out of his car so he rang his mum asking her to bring the spare set to him. Mum dutifully drove the twenty odd miles to the rescue of her marooned son. She pulled up next to his car in the car park, wound the window down and said "Tim, your window is wound down" and promptly drove out of the car park and back home.

when me and the missus first got our house after a few months we decided to redo the bathroom so turned water off ripped everything out cut all the pipes and put them little isolation valves in. 4 out of 5 leaked so turned water off went back up and tightened them all some more then decided to turn the screw to have a look down one of the pipes (nothing to see down there) closed it back off went down stairs and turned the water back on to hear my missus shouting so went to bottom of stairs to see what all the fuss was and she said water was squirting everywhere. turned water back off and went upstairs to survey and like a doofus i had only half closed the valve and soaked the bathroom

just tape a spare key in a polythene bag under the car i washed the inside of mine last week then shut the door the bl ,,.,.y central locks came on locking the key inside sat on the seat .just used the spare from under the car

Kitchen sink drain blocked <snip>

I was staying at a friend's farmhouse on weekend in the spare room. Had to go to the loo in the middle of the night, but the only loo was through the master bedroom where my friends were sleeping. Too cold to go outside, so I used the sink in the corner of the spare room. Halfway through I wondered why my feet were getting wet. Sink not hooked up...

Also when hooking up a washing machine where the pipes came down two storeys, I had a small leak where I'd screwed the taps on. So I turned off the water at the toby and unscrewed the tap. Two storeys' worth of water in the pipe hit me square in the face.
