youre not taking this seriously at all norm, the red neck is caused by the arc when welding keep your skin covered to avoid it

There's a scary amount of this stuff around. I took these pictures at a US car show a few years ago. This contraption had current licence plates and had presumably been driven there. It was up for sale; can't remember what the bargain price was.

To be fair, this was fairly typical. All the welding that I could see on this car was of birdsh*t standard. The reverse ackerman on the front end must have made the car an "interesting" drive too .

A very famous T bucket called Andromedia had the very same ackermann setup, I pointed out the the builder Nick Butler that it wasn't very good and he spouted reverse ackermann to me and how all modern cars were done this way, I walked away and let the others blow smoke up his ar$e !!!

Thats right, I helped a mate rebuild it, got to see the work close up, It was a bit scary !!! There were bits that had been welded with no prep and then the polisher had polished out the welds which left less than 1/16" holding it altogether !!! I still have the pics

If you are tech minded regarding steering, a science on it's own, the maths drove me mad when we were building cars

That American thing is all wrong, if you look close to the brakes there's a bolt holding the caliper adapter plate, the braided hos looks like it fouls on the drag-link on the steering, the hairpin, if it's called that has the ball joint bent in to avoid the steering, and the strain on the steering bar standing up well........

Oh and some poor unsuspecting person who likes the look of it will probably die the first time they drive it at speed, well that's if it doesn't shake/slalom all over the road

A couple of replies from the creator of it:
I don't drive this on the road, its strictly off road use. I paid 350 bucks for the truck. it cost me 20 dollars to do this lift. the welder is cheap, I just completed a 2 year course in welding and can weld very good. the first pass of these welds is very efficient the multiple passes after got sloppy but if it brakes ill be surprised. I'm trying to build (the cheapest I can) a truck to tear up on the farm . I'm not taking this on vacation but hey I'm happy with so its cool by me!

I welded a trailer hitch, just the hitch to the rear of our car trailer so we could hook our hay wagon to the rear of the trailer. we haul 4 1200 pound bails (4800pounds) . we drive miles this way up very steep hills and no trouble at all. I don't think anyone realizes how little im worried about this thing being done by the books. it will probably never go over 20 mph on the farm. I finished school with a 3.8 gpa I know how to weld just not real concerned.
