how clean is *your* shed?

Scaffolding up out the way. Was fed up moving it around to access bits.

Il start porting stuff out of the shed this week.

Cant grumble. All scaffold and key clamp stuff was free

Yep i think im going to go with an 2 pack epoxy.

If it's fairly new concrete then make sure to break the surface with something abrasive first. My BIL painted his with polyurethane and it lifted off in sheets. He spoke to some guy with the paint manufacturer who asked if it was under 28 days old then asked if he had abraded the surface as when the concrete was curing it would have produced a lattice on the surface where the water and fat came to the surface. General traffic would over time get rid of this but it was his problem. A few hours scraping the finish then another coat and it stuck.

It’s about 6-7 years old. Just really dusty.

I hoovered mine then two very wet coats of water proof pva. Still looks like concrete, but not dusty now.

I thought about this as I’ve got 15L of PVA but apparently it can mess with paint down the line

Paint costs....though nice, shiney grey finish...but is it worth the time, money, and effort!

It’s only my small area where I want to put the lathe that I’m going to paint for the meantime.

Not sure if it is a common problem or not but my step brothers shed doesn't suffer from dust, or at least no concrete dust and it is fairly new (4 or 5 years at most)

It’s when concrete that is too wet is poured. The mix that came in the lorry was carp.

Ah ok, theirs must have been good then. Bleeding massive place, had 3 of the 7m Cheetahs in at one time, all in a row and they were only half way down the shed

I would love to rebuild this workshop. It was basically a crappy games room that never got used and was timber framed.

My dads old workshop was accidentally burnt down by an apprentice so the games room was ripped down section by section and replaced with a steel frame as we went.

Was all done on the cheap so the concrete floor wasn’t replaced.

My two cents worth Brad93. I first washed mine with high pressure water blaster, then after removing the surface water treated it with acid (this is to get a more porous surface for the epoxy to mechanically stick) let dry and painted with Jotun jotacote 605 in light aircraft grey. The reason for the jotacote 605 is it's adherence to concrete and it's resistance to chemical attack. I use thinners, oils etc in my place and wanted some type of floor that could be cleaned easily regardless of what was spilled in it. So far then only thing that has effected the 605 had been 'cold tank dip'. Just a note I did do the floor with PVA, looked good but hot tyers from a truck and or wet would make it unhappy. Had to do the whole area again 330 square meters was not fun. It has been there for 8 years now, chips, scratches in the main working area.

There would have to be an equivalent for the UK. Just look up 'epoxy with high chemical resistance suitable for concrete application' colour is then your choice
