the centre of gravity needs to be in front of the rear axle, and as low down as possible.
cycle up a steep hill without the above and you'll be testing your breakfalls and/or helmet
I need to get my head around this. I know that it can be easy to overturn a forklift truck by not getting this sort of thing right-travelling with the load up in the air for example. Just thinking how a person on a bike is literally head & shoulders above the crossbar.
