Making up some display legs today and thought I'd use the TIG for it to practice.
Petty pleased with how it went, neatest Ive done on steel yet...stainless is much easier.
5mm plate onto 3mm box, about 110amps, 2.4mm tungsten and 1.6mm filler.
Should have used more downslope to avoid the crater and a bit of undercut on the plate? I felt like I was struggling to get a good puddle with less amps though.
They passed the hammer test so they are certianly strong enough.
Thoughts? Hints? Tips? Criticism, constructive or otherwise?
