Hotel London ish area

Howdy Folks. Thinking of a weekend away in London weekend after next. After suggestions for places to stay (premier inn type place) that's not stupid price hopefully with tube type access into the city. Any ideas?


Going to be driving down and hopefully collecting engine and tool boxes

Where are you heading for in town and what time will you be wanting to leave town (show, night life or site seeing), how many bodies?

Anywhere just out of the center will be pricey

Two body's, wife is wanting to go to grand design show and London zoo. Have been looking at jury's inn Heathrow as lad at work uses that a lot on trips to London with family as its near underground

Cant beat a premier inn, havn't stayed in a bad one yet.

For parking, I have used http://www.parkonmydrive.com/ a couple of times.
Rent out someones drive for a weekend, for £10, ideal if the hotel hasn't got a carpark.

Check for tube closures on the routes you plan on using, fell foul of that one back along.
Buses laid on instead, but much slower.

Have to agree with Karl, I have never stayed in a bad Prem Inn either and I have to stay in hotels quite a lot. You just need to make sure you book up in advance, I have stayed in central London for £35 a night inc breakfast before now but that was booked up about 2 months in front. The same room, same hotel was close to 4x that amount within the same week.

Last year we had a conference at House of Commons and we pushed the boat out (or so we thought!) and stayed at the Grosvenor right by Buckingham palace and it the room was the biggest pile of cack I have ever stayed in. Even a travel lodge would of been better

I agree Premior inns take some beating but as its week after next the price is high ish. Can't really push it back as its first wedding anniversary

We've got a job in London, i've had the lads staying in a Premier Inn. They reckon its better than being at home. £35 a night.

The Tower Bridge one would be dead handy for getting the DLR to Excel. Plenty of parking round there but it will cost you £20 /£30 a day unless the hotel do deals with the multi story just round the corner in Minnories.

I missed the last train home in January and got a room at midnight in the Stylotel in Sussex gardens, literally a couple of minutes walk from London Paddington for £50.

Before I moved up I always used the Holiday Inn Express on Old St. 3 mins to the tube and some decent boozers around there.
