It comes with a removable inner tank although I’ll be fitting a larger nylon/plastic aftermarket one below and hope the pump inside can cope with the extra lift. (Fingers crossed)How are you going to fill it with fuel? Or not that high up?
Two things, what exactly is a blast gate? Would it just be a flap of some sort?Might be an odd point and sorry if i've missed it but...
Have you considered NOT making it switchable?
Reason i say that is ti have a 'garage' workshop and a similar heating system. If your Heater is 5KW like mine then a warm air vent into each room would keep them both warm enough. I run my heater at the 'door end' of my garage (for simple venting reasons) and the heat travels around very well and I need to run the heater on low or its a sauna! if you are trying to keep heat at one end because you arthinking it will be warmer that might be something to test?
Failing that a simple 'shop extractor' type 'blast gate' in the line might work, there are loads of homemade ones on youtube....
Just a thought... Here is my set up just in case it helps in anyway

Second thing. How’s the fuel pump doing with the tank Quite a bit underneath?
I might have to mount my tank another couple of feet lower than yours and was wondering if it’ll struggle to pump sufficiently
