You have answered your own question by saying the hose is too thick for a standard clip (of whatever type). If it is a blast hose, there are specialised fittings for it that attach in a different way.

The supplied hose was far too short. I ordered a longer one same bore. Original hose had normal grips supplied. This one is obviously better quality.

Can you make a U shaped bracket with a hole in that goes behind the hex of the barb and then under the hose clamp to stop it mechanically coming off?

Do you know anyone with a hydraulic hose crimper. A hydraulic ferrule will sort that.

Lube the clip threads and wire with silicone or rubber grease, then get a hex drive on the screw

That’s a thick bit of hose, may benefit from dunking the end in boiling water prior to munching up the clip.

I have a 'Band-It' set that forms a VERY tight stainless steel band round almost anything. I got it for the cooling hoses for my induction furness. Councils use the same thing to put signs on lamp posts and indeed I've used it to secure chestnut fencing to steel gate posts !
