That grass is some serious corrosive stuff on mowers and looks a great job you have done there on that Ally..i was more fortunate as mine was made from steel so pretty easy repair.

sometimes you go to sales and buy something for a tenner and there's always a smartass that says in front of a load of people I have loads of them not to be out done I shout up give me your name and address and il buy them all off you as I need a load more and they just shut up and keep there heads down

I have to look at my brothers lawnmower it’s a new Craftsman they have foster kids the first one raised it and lowered it down on 1” studs on the lamposts a new blade later another one grabbed a good size rock and yelled grenade flinging it in the path of the mower of course the idiot didn’t stop fireing it out through the side metal!

I bought a Mountfield similar to that with motor drive and an ally deck but with the Tecumseh engine in 1982 and it is still going strong, the deck is still in really good condition in-spite of me using it all this time

Apart from replacing a bottom oil seal (it picked up a bit of thin nylon line and wound it into the seal) and the magneto it has been great. I did made a stainless silencer a few years ago but that's it.
Just donated it to my daughter and bought a used lighter model Mountfield with a tin deck (just because it was cheap), bet this don't last as long though.
The ally deck one used to rise and fall using a large hand wheel screw so no help there.

Good job there, Just done the same amount of work to mine only with mig.( New deck no longer available).

Just zoomed pics and looks like mig, some work involved patching them up otherwise they'd become part of the throw away society.

Yea was MIG and the only reason i spent the time was it has a very nice Honda engine.

Well some have come from all over the most are fetal alcohol, add, or various forms of psychological problems. Over the years they have raised over 30 kids ( long term ) adopting two of them.
