That was my very first motorbike. Bought it for £9 with a seized big end (idiot previous owner's fault for running it without oil).I have a c200, 90cc engined 60s motorbike, not stepthrough
1964, blue. I used to rag it around the fields when my parents were out....That was my very first motorbike. Bought it for £9 with a seized big end (idiot previous owner's fault for running it without oil).
Mine was a 1964, but black. Have you restored yours?1964, blue. I used to rag it around the fields when my parents were out....
No, not yet. Like a fool when I was 14 I removed the indicators and chain guard so it looked “cool”. Should be looking for some really.Mine was a 1964, but black. Have you restored yours?
Yes, I well remember wishing that mine had 'cool' dropped handlebars. Then it dawned on me that I could rotate the bars through the clamps so they were (sort of) dropped. What I hadn't taken account of was that Honda ran the control cables inside the bars and out through a slot underneath the bars and into the headlight so they were out of sight (pretty nifty for the '60s). So my strong in the arm and weak in the head 16 year old self basically guillotined all the cables and had to spend hours soldering and sleeving all the cables I'd chopped off when I rotated the bars in the clamps...No, not yet. Its amazing at some of the lumps of TT history that live in sheds round these parts ,,, I have a friend with a garage full of Yoshimura sorry Suzuki [ gsxr called SueEllen , because if the amount it drank] , and a couple of TT winning RCs too , as well as a few other exotic bits and bobs ,,, and its just a garage you would walk past and never look at twice , unless you know better.Ex colleague used to ride one to work as a commuter. People took the hand out of him about it but the same guy used to race at the TT and had some very rapid road bikes to play on, just bimbled about on the c90 as a cheap mode of transport.
I can get some over the weekend.Any chance of some photos of the TY ? Just for nostalgia's sake...
