I had a big clear out recently... really big clear out
tossed away a lot o scrap and junk... and a load of good stuff I just didn't need anymore, stuff I bought for projects/ideas that changed or things left over when other things have been changed/replaced at work
all the local scrap yards are closed and I'm too short on time... I know an old retired scrap man pretty well (he comes in for dog food once a week and stays for an hour to chat to me / the lads at work)... he took away 8 transit pickup loads... multiple times I was loading him up and he was shouting at me to stop because it was too overloaded
pretty sure I lost £thousands there...
but no I have loads of space, I'm much better organised and I feel.... free? idk, it;s an odd feeling
always the way
did it make you feel better getting rid of the stuff at the time?
mixed feelings really, it went some each day, so at least I got a chance to tidy up and organise things between... I guess the feeling of achievement and finding stuff I need / tidying up / finding all those odd spanners/screwdrivers/sockets I'd lost and putting them in tidy tool boxes helped... tool cabinets went from almost empty to full.... went from 1 9inch grinder to 4!
it would have probably left a bitter taste in my mouth if everything went all at once... more of a shock to the system
to be fair... the builders yard used to fit 12 skip waggons an office and all their tools in my workshop... two weeks ago you could hardly get in the shutter and when you were in you had to climb over/around stuff :-o

Niiice!!!1966 Jensen CV8 with a fair few modifications.
I wouldn't encourage travellers or Gypsies personally.I have a plastic storage crate that rolls under the bench. When it's nearly full I put the scrap into bags and dump it in the front garden. It's usually gone pretty quickly.
