I'm quite happy to be working the 7th Christmas day on the trot
Not really into worshiping a mythical god , or welcoming the Baby Jesus into the world

I work for a large dairy cooperative , collecting from farms and /or delivering to various dairies.

I took the job initially partly because I could work Christmas day and escape the misery that it used to bring me .....

I think the best Christmases I have spent alone , and there's been several over the years .

Last year it was suggested to me by my G/F that I'm quite probably Autistic or at least on the spectrum ....

2026 is the year I'll see about getting a diagnosis , not that there's a cure lol
But I might get a piece of paper saying ......

I'm probably well at least from my u tube research high functioning autistic ...

Mind you it will prob be 2028 till I get an appointment

Anyway tomorrow.ill be starting at 3.30 am and prob done by 2 pm or before ....
Then home to help the g/f with the sumptuous meal , roasties my speciality , really crunchy on the outside fluffy inside Yum
I'll take some cat treats for any farm cats I stumble across ..

I have worked loads of Xmas eves till 5/6pm - several Boxing Day mornings till lunchtime (then home for beer/cold meat/jacket potatos).

But I have never worked a Xmas day ever in the whole of my life.

Ive worked that many Ive forgotten how many. Just part of working away, its another working day if its your turn.

Once left home in September, came back in March….

can't do 10% of what I used to and it's driving me crazy

Welcome to my world, the only diffe4rence is, if you over extend yourself it will mean a couple days lay down and recuperate, me? If I over extend myself it could quite easily lead to another (final) heart attack. I still do it though, dumb as chocks I am!

1988, Xmas Day, lying on my back under an Essex V6 in a Scimitar SE5a, changing mains and big end shells in the parking space behind my digs, happy as Larry.

About 1984 for me, Christmas Day, Hillman Hunter gearbox out in the morning, stripped & repaired in the afternoon & back in Boxing Day morning. People asked “why did you do it” … “I needed the car to go to work after the break” I’ve never really been. into Crimbo, so it was no big deal for me.

Well, for some years I spent every Christmas and New Year alone, Mrs NW Mk1 HAD to "go home to see her family" (thousands of miles away) so I was left to my own devices, I became quite used to it and came to actually look forward to the peace and quiet. Now, the Mk 2 version has the family round here every Christmas and I quite look forward to that now and Mk 1 won't go anywhere because she wants to spend Christmas with the grandkids. You couldn't make it up.
