Hole saw recommendtions please?

I went off Starret 18 or more months ago, in favour of the Bosch system.
So far i reckon the Bosch last two to three times longer.
Secondly the Starrets and all the arbours i have new and old all veer off centre around 2mm on 25 dia, Bosch negligeable.

Just buy the Quick Release arbour.

I have yet to find an 'accurate' holesaw, but yes, Bosch do seem to be better than the likes of screwfix / toolstation cheap tat. Plus a second vote for the bosch quick release arbor.

Normally just drill everything at lowest speed.

No. You need a slow speed, plenty of pressure and oodles of cutting fluid.

It's the peripheral speed that counts. So with a large diameter the peripheral speed can be quite high for a low rpm.

I just happen to have a starrett speed chart next to me (bit sad maybe)..Anyway it says 390 rpm for a 22mm holesaw on mild steel.

Thanks Wyn, lowest speed on my bench drill is 475 rpm so that will just have to do!
