and the UDT now at that stage where I can try it on a pond, although when I tried the trawler last week for the first time, it nearly got hit by the equivalent of a tidal wave from the wake of a goose.....and if it carried on like that it was heading for a Christmas lunch

so here are another set off propulsion parts for UDT boat that are the same idea as those for the trawler (on 5mm square paper)

and assembled

the udt boat with styrene fabrications, its a bit like welding just smaller and not as hot.

the underneath of the boat (the propeller is 18mm diameter)

and the radio gear installed

and how it will be hidden

I'll try it out tomorrow. them while I'm finishing these start on steam engines again

You have amazing patience, lovely work but too fiddly for me. I had one of those North Sea trawlers, the Revel kit looks very similar, a Grimsby middle-water side trawler. Not to be confused with a side water middle trawler..

a quick update, Ive finished the first of the model boat conversion. The landing craft has a fair bit of artistic licence to it, but I think it turned out pretty well.

and seeing what it floats like, in a grill pan. The completed model is 11" long and can be used in 1.5" of water

when I started this thread, I had no idea that I would end doing the conversions, Youtube has a lot to answer
