will be over soon, will not be applying
Though i initially agreed with that, having been quiet for 2months and the realisation that we will be paying for it regardless. I did hear on the new a rumour of self employed tax almost matching paye.
I have to claim some tax back on savings, and send in my self assessment, but been putting it off until the hmrc aren’t so busy.
Well, thinking about it, that isn’t going to happen soon, so guess what I’m doing next week.

I tried several times to get through the system, paperwork is not my strong point and I couldn't get anywhere without running into some problem or other. Try later, system overload, until finally I discover I am not eligible because my earnings are too low. The only way I can (or could have) received any compensation is by signing on. I did that years ago and they were without doubt, the worst days of my life. never again, I'd rather be dead in a ditch than pestered by those <unnameable> employment officers.
They are less interested in helping you find work than they are kicking you off benefits or applying a "sanction". I went in once with "dirt under my fingernails"; interview under caution, sanction, no money for a month, it nearly killed me. Wasn't until I mentioned my hobby as a restorer/fixer that I was let off the hook. So now I am "self employed" but paradoxically don't qualify for a grant because I don't earn enough.
This is about the self employed grant scheme, if you are employed or out of work it is a different process
I am self employed. I had an accountant but she lost all of my paperwork. I mean everything. I hand delivered a huge box of everything but instead of me collecting or having it couriered, she stuck it in the post (she says). I had hoped to cash in a pension, I have several but no record of any of them now. All my bank records, invoices, and personal documentation. It left me devastated, on the brink of doing something stupid. That was a year or so ago, I didn't file last years tax return (I earn under the threshold anyway) and I never was any good at paperwork. Then I had a couple of heat attacks and my world fell apart, it was already in pieces.
Because I trade working odd jobs instead of paying for her services, I can't sue.
As for the grant, furlough, benefit etc. I am quite surprised to discover, the self-isolation thing hasn't affected my earnings really. While my finances go up and down a fair bit, at the moment they are pretty up! I probably won't bother with any claim and I certainly won't be going onto unemployment which I believe is the so called "best" option. Rather be dead in a ditch.
You said your earnings are too low, there is no minimum earning level on the self employed scheme. You can earn too much profit but not too little

He means I'd assume he didn't cross the threshold to pay tax.You said your earnings are too low, there is no minimum earning level on the self employed scheme. You can earn too much profit but not too little
If you have a business bank account you can get a "bounce back" loan which is government backed and does not involve a credit check ..from £2000 to £50,000...fill the form in online and the money is in your account within 7 daysI don't know how it works. It's too late anyway because I didn't file a 2018-2019 tax return. Seemed like a lot of effort for 80% of bugger all. I'll just have to sell something to make up for it.

Yes i am with Natwest too and was going to change to Starling bank with a £1500 cash back and no chargers for 12 months until this bounce back thing turned up...go on to the Natwest main site (not the phone app) and follow Corona hub linkDo you have a link,
I bank with natwest, have done for years, and now can't wait to shift my account. The uuankers seem to have totally forgotten who bailed them out just a few years ago
