It's seized and looks like a complete wreck! I have it in my watched items because I was hoping to pick it up for the steady, but that is REALLY strong money IMO.

And there I was, thinking people were broke - just me then!

Depends how badly you need the salvageable parts really.

I've paid over the odds for hard to find items before just to secure them straight away rather than risk another 6 months till I see the part again.
Change wheels for my s and b have fetched silly money recently and I refrained from buying when they went above 200 notes.

Thing is, it will cost a lot to restore, unless we're talking a restoration involving sand paper for the ways and a tub of paint

There's a couple of bits that are hard to get but easy to break. The little lever-action gearbox is one and the 3-legged saddle traverse pinion bracket another. If you have those broken on your Atlas then £100 isn't a bad price.

I have a myford ml7 that the backgear headstock gear is bust. never seen one available in a year. just a complete headstock for 150 quid which is 2 much and not worth it

For 1.50 would make an ok small welding bench. Bin the rest. Wouldn't use it as a saw if you paid me.

I had an interesting experience a few years ago.
I saw a DSG lathe advertised locally. I have always wanted one so I arranged to meet the bloke. It was on a farm miles away so off I went. I got concerned when the farmer took me past the barns towards the fields! And there it was - in the 10 acre field! The lathe didn't look too bad. Under a scabby bit of a tarpaulin. He wanted £300 for it which was fair enough. I happened to have a few cans of spray grease so I gave it a good coating. I told him I would arrange transport and come back next week. When I turned up with a trailer he said the price had gone up to £400! When I asked why he said - "Storage"!!! He has to rent the field! Naturally I left it there - he didn't get a penny!

Wish I had known that, I might have been able to help you. I went round to look at 7 battered/rusty ML7/super7's for my friend Jan. He bought them all up for a good price, and they are all under restoration as we speak.

A handy machine for parts. Some parts are very difficult to come by now. Although the price is steep but if parts are needed. It's worth £100. I am watching a lathe for parts.
Currently sitting at £250.

We get them over here too. This sold for $500 - a nice machine but horrible condition. When I see the words 'power disconnected' and 'bits missing' I see problems and cost. Still, it's almost all there and if you've got the time and money she could come right.

They go for silly money. It breaks my heart that I sold a very good condition Triumph 2000 50" gap bed lathe for £600 back in about 2000. I didn't know so much about them then and just didn't have the space. I kept all the tooling though and the dividing head. I paid £600 for the lathe with all the bits.
