My first ever record was UB40 red red wine 12" single

My first ever CD as per Jim, was Dire Straights' Brothers in Arms. First 7" would be People are People by Depeche Mode. First 12".... I honestly don't remember!

I seem to remember Chickory Tip's main claim to fame was having the first hit (number 1?) to feature a synthesizer ...didn't make it a good song though!

Oh hell, a 78 rpm with Ronnie Ronalde whistling "on the Quarter deck" late 50s I think

then oto Donnagan, Haley, Everlys and loads of early crooners etc

Well if it is a competition...

My first single was Love is Blue. That was a special offer for collecting vouchers from margerine. I was probably about 13! The first one purchased I think was T-Rex with Children of the Revolution. One of the first albums was Days of future passed (past?), by the Moody Blues.

Sorry your 2 years older then me you started late in life with music then as did Parm, UB40 and Depeche Mode my first single was pepper box by the peppers 1973 I was 5

This might make you feel a bit younger. My first album was 'Curved Air - Second Album'. Never bought a single in my life!
