Done and ordered, absolute bargin at £100 for the pair. Dual voice coils at 2 ohms each so will allow me to wire into amp at 4 ohms per channel and then set up through the mini DSP.Also check the coil impedance and make sure you can wire them to suit your amp

There you go another project for the holidays![]()
Iv got mini dsp 2 x 4. Can set it up simply with full range house speakers and an out put for a sub on each channel so left and right full range with a sub on each channelWhat mini dsp do you have? I have 2 2x4's and a mini digi but I want the new 6x8 that's designed for in car use
We've got a 30 year old Aiwa stack with a Technics multi cd player on top, sounds fine to me. I came in one day and my wife was listening to it, I asked if it sounded alright to her and she said fine why ? One of the speakers had come adrift and she didn't notice![]()
I've got a Decca gramophone, must be nearly 70 years old, it only does 78 & 33-1/3 rpm, different pickups for each, and it sounds great.
I have some "directional" cable too. It was a good bit cheaper than that though, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. I am intrigued about how electrons are able to see the arrows. Otherwise it was good stuff with a pair of heavy conductors seperated with a web of plastic. Branded Puresonic or some such at under a pound per metre from CPC if I remember correctly.Car audio shop that used to be nearish to me sold expensive speaker cable, like £150/ft expensive...
When I queried what made it worth the money, I was pointed at the printing on the insulation. It had arrows on. One set of arrows referenced amp, and the arrows pointing the other way referenced speakers.
Directional speaker cable.

Mr Andrews has seemingly walked the line of sales patter a tad too close in the past....hence the frequent use of weasel words and non tangible statements...

@anjum placebo effect also has a big part to play, can also be due to oxides on terminations etc...
Heck I have a reclaimed early 90s sony amp, pair of speakers that came with it (actually currently one is an old monitor speaker I got for free....oddly sounds better with a mish mash of speakers...)
I knew the link would be Russ Andrews before I even hovered over it.Does any one actually pay £1.5K for a metre of cable? - link they did have some bargain 13A fuses for only £25 each, should be suitable for welders![]()
My first ever record was UB40 red red wine 12" singleI've got one, first and last record I ever bought. Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits, £5.00 in Tesco, paid for with my 6th birthday money. CDs came in right around that time and I swapped to them from that point. Shame as I always envied my Dads record collection and knew they were special (never touched them) the same can't be said for his cassette tape collection, when I was a toddler I helped myself to a rack holding about 40 to use the cases as scoops for digging up the flower bed, they broke really fast (obviously) but that was ok because there were so many. When all the cases were broke I used the tapes themselves, they were much tougher than the cases. How I've made it to age 36 I'll never know...
Love you Dad.
