Not exactly, but i'm not a real welder. My stick welding ain't up to much and that really shows up the men from the boys.
The boat was a bit of a mistake - didn't realise what I was getting into. Four years later she's almost done, and I've no regrets, but I seriously underestimated the amount of work involved!
Let us know more about your welder on that other thread. Sips might be a bit dodgy but that doesn't mean it can't be sorted. Plenty of advice to be had here.
G'luck

cheers mate so what will you do when the barge is finished are you planning to use it for holidays? please excuse my ignorance but i presume theres a canal system in edinburgh as i dont imagine youve got a 50ft barge parked on your front drive?!!! ive been on a few canal boat holidays fell in every time!! youll have to be a competent joiner for your project too id guess? ive found forums to be very helpfull in the past on other subjects so i thought id give it a go,do sips tend to be more troublesome than other makes then? i used a friends murex at work and it felt like a rolls royce in comparison to mine, whether thats because hed set it up and he knew what hes doing!! thats the problem my knowledge is so limited that i dont know if or when ive a problem!!!
