Hi Guys!
great site!
I was looking at some basic info about welding aluminium and drifted in here...
Some stuff about myself...
I'm a network engineer or telephone engineer and sometimes both.
Got into welding about 18 years ago when I lost yet another car due to MOT failure where I couldn't afford the £200 plus garage repair.
Did a course at the local college, evenings, during the winter, and covered gas, stick & mig.
Bought a cheapo used basic Clarke set that shut down after about ten minutes welding but found that after I'd added a cooling fan off an old PABX (properly fused, safe, of course) that it didn't over heat any more.
While running my market stall on a local sunday market a few years back I met a guy who made market stalls but he was retiring so I bought all his tools, spare kit and some knowledge/training and I made market stalls, tables, display shelves, etc, for a couple of years, part time.
That's pretty much it...I'm interested in general engineering, welding, done lots of car repairs, etc.
This summer I've restored a hovercraft that I bought off ebay and it's within a few days of running...
Please feel free to ask any questions!
Regards
Peter
