Hi all......My name is Rich....new to welding so have joined this forum for tips,advice,tricks and the wealth of knowledge a site like this can bring. It would be mainly Automotive welding i would be doing and i am a complete novice

I used to work at Oldbury fire station for 25 years so I know your area. Once had a great shop called Graham engineering. Sadly its no more.

I now live in kidderminster. Not that far away.

I had my first ever place of my own in Smethwick.....a council property on the Jungle.....i still have nightmares about that place...lol

I was bought up in Langley...i used to go to Langley Infant and Junior back in the 70's....we could see you lads (not you Perhaps) training out of our school windows and i remember we kept being evacuated a lot of the time when Albright and Wilsons alarms went off

77 i was there.... lol

For the next 25 years after that also...

That's going back quite a bit mind there were decent areas of Handsworth then even a Lotus garage and Noel Gordon.

Still have family in Winson Green, Quinton and Smethwick. I remember Raleigh and Sturmy Archer along with the 'Birmid' where me ole man worked now lives in Bearwood. Emigrated a good 40 odd years ago but still proud to be a Brummie.
