Hi folks, currently doing a welding course at Kilmarnock college - not much theory to be had, just lots of welding time, so I've got a few questions...
Been playing with the MIG welders for the past few weeks, and can lay down pretty convincing welds on 3mm and 6mm steel. We're required to do a down hand fillet weld ("t" joint) as one of our test pieces and I can't get much other than a snotty looking weld. I don't know whether to up the wire feed/go slower or to change the power setting at all - any tips much appreciated.
Also, from having a nosey around here, it seems I should really be trying to suss out welding vertically (upwards) too, is that correct?
Any help much appreciated,
Chris
