Hi Andy here 33 from kingswinford near dudley in the west midlands. Hopefuly speak to you more soon. Just started welding really although ive spent many an hour with my dad he was a welder for over 30 years. Ive only got a mig . And are restoring a vw type 2 camper at the moment. So will be asking for hints soon on best places to get me gas from etc. Take care everyone Andy

What do you mean only a MIG? Fine machines - something the ARC and TIG guys would use if they could only get the hang of them.

Yupbig bang at the pod this weekend and looked to be a great weekend. I stayed at home doing my van though.


I didnt mean only as in wish i had an arc or anything lol just would of thought some have a few like gas,arc ,mig etc my dad has a arc but to powerful for vw rust lol

Although today i run out of wire so gotta get some now. Will 5kg rolls fit on normal hobby migs? or do i have to buy .7kg rolls ?? Must say though love welding . enjoyed the weekend having some beers while welding . Lifes good

That's complete rubbish from me (sorry) - they are the same mounting as 15kg reels so adapters needed to mount them.

5kg ones have the same size centres as 15kg ones, the 0.7kg ones have a very small hole. Most hobby migs can take 0.7kg and 5kg ones, you usually get an adapter supplied to fit the larger hole, if not you can buy them.
