That's a serious project there. I can see from the website all the work going in to lining everything up - lots of trial fits, mole grips, and best of all jigging! Looking good.

If the panels aren't too expensive it seems to be a good plan to tacke something hopelessly rusty and replace everything that's bad. You end up without all the original badly sealed joints and the trouble they cause. Don't forget the seam sealer and wayoyl when it's all together.

Hi Malcolm,

You are right, the panels are pretty inexpensive. I'm replacing all of the outer panels bar the roof. Both cills,inner and outer, floors and inner wings all round are new.

Painting up all of the inaccessable panels in redoxide, followed by a brush painted topcoat, and seam sealer on all joints, including any patches.

Plan is to finish the topside, pull all of the suspension then tip it over onto some matresses so that I can finish welding the underside where needed. Some more paint, sealing and stonechip to follow.

Doing some discrete mecanical upgrades as well, 126 (650cc) engine, dual circuit brakes, disk conversion for the front and 13" wheels.

Hope to be done this year !
