Hi everyone, Im new to all this welding and will probably ask some stupid questions.
I have welded before but that was some years back while working on a Farm and with a very old arc welder, have had arc eye twice, once was my own fault the other time a young lad touched the torch on the trailer as he was pasing it to me. not something id like to have again.

Welcome along Iv also done the arc eye thing many years back when I was young and stupid Im now old and stupid but I'm not going to be doing that again ask away with any questions as they are all a very welcoming bunch and know one will think you are stupid your have to prove that by getting arc eye for the 3rd time LOL all the best

So im almost stupid as Ive only had it twice, thank got for that, I must admit arc eye is something id rather not have again, can you remember having to walk round with eye patches over both eyes wondering if people were pointing at you or moving things into your path so you almost trip over them.
Or is it just the sort of thing I think about doing when I see someone wearing eye patches

only ever had it once never again that was paaaaiiiiiinnnnfull a work mate was welding on the ramp next to me and i did'nt even watch him weld

It's not very nice I had it almost for 6hrs after eyes running and the pain it's not as if you can just close you eyes and the pain go's away. I just hope that I never do it again. Iv had to get some welding curtains knocked up in the garage due to 3year old and pets, have you got your self a welder yet Julian and what type of welding are you interested in.
