Hi everyone,
I'm a bit of a hobby mechanic, my own car being a jap import Subaru Legacy GTB and needing it's 3rd engine this year, it's probably quite lucky I enjoy it. Since this has become more of what I've spent my time doing I've had a little niggle of wanting to learn to weld, so I was pretty happy the other day when my stepdad turned up with a MIG welder! Now we've got one, it seems silly not to give it a go. He's been welding up various odds and ends on cars since he was about 14, so I'm sure he's more than capable of showing me the ropes, although I've learned how invaluable forums can be recently with my car, so here I am!
I've already flicked through a couple of projects etc and seeing as I own a 19 year old Japanese car and my girlfriend is madly in love with her 2002 Ford KA and has a mad idea of wanting a series 3 land rover, I doubt it'll be too long before I'll be starting one too!

welcome to the forum.
Go wash yer mouth out with Lifebouy soap!!
. The Landy is probably going to be a year or 2 down the line so it gives me chance to a) finish my car off and b) learn to weld.
