HF not working on V-205C Lincoln Tig

Morning all,

I have the above TIG welder and all was fine when I bought it but now the HF has stopped working! I don't know if there is a function to turn it off and on and that I may have turned it off while messing around changing settings etc or if it is faulty? I was relitivley new to TIG welding when I bought it and too busy to look into it but I am constantly doing more ally work and lift starting becomes a neusance after a while.

Can anyone shed some light on this please

Does it default to HF start if you switch lift start off ?

thats what I'm trying to find out. How to turn the lift start off and turn the HF on

Does it have a mode button on the front panel ? V-205T manual, don't know if it's the same as your 205C but it might help and there's an old thread about a similar problem and hotrodder mentions a hidden menu you could try.

AFAIK there is no such machine as a v205C, with a v205-t HF/lift start is set in the 'hidden' menu and is ignored (at least with the older machines) in AC. You need to ensure that you check the correct manual for the model year of your machine as the parameters in the hidden menu aren't in the same place. The manual Pedro posted a link to is laid out the same as mine but some of the parameters have different ranges however if you have a newer model with 2 different stick modes it'll look more like http://www.lincolnelectric.com/assets/servicenavigator-public/lincoln3/im937.pdf

If you have no HF start in AC i'm almost positive something is wrong. Worth resetting it to factory defaults (should be parameter 9 or 11 depending on age) just in case it's a software glitch but it's a long shot

Sorry, my mistake, it is a V-205T and thanks for the information. I'll have a read of the manual with some hope that I've switched it off and it's not broken!!

Thanks for your help guys but I had to drop it off at the repair shop as the rest function didn't work!!
