hi
ive been around a while, just never got round to creating a account!
i own both a mig and tig plant and i get on ok with both, been having torch liner problems with the mig, but thats no biggy.
the reason i joined is because i recently moved into the tig world. i originally bought a really cheap ac/dc tig and got on ok with it but it went bang (no really, loud bang and tripped the 100a main in the house!)
so i looked around for a replacement quality item, i ended up with this:
about all i know is its made by hobart.
i think im doing ok,
this is 2mm steel welded with only the occasional input from the filler rod, at 35amps. i prefer 4t mode as i dont have a pedal and im not sure if the welder can accommodate one.
this is only about my 3rd go with the tig, and about 6 months since i last used it, so what do you think? i was told by a welding teacher (met in passing) that i shouldn't try to over analyze my own welds but to get experienced eyes to tell me what to change. so.... critique away
