Well I use the mig in work in flat position all the time it gets a bit boring. So I was at dads with my kempomatic there was a bit of scrap lying about I have not welded with the squirt gun in the v positions up few little runs for you all to take a look and give some advice please all welcome

Beating on it doesn't really mean much I have found. When I was trying to learn to tig weld I used to bash the joints a bit and some appeared to be very strong but the force was goin the wrong way. Put them in a press and get a bit of weight on them and they pop open like a tin of beans

Yeah bashing 7 bells out of a weld tells you very little. Good distructive tests to do at home are face and root bend tests.

I thought Jody did whomping I like the expression he uses when something is out of square where we would say wonky it's caddywhompus.

Looks Ok, bit heavy in the middle of the bead, you need to pause longer at each side, a count of 3 in your head usually works, then move across the face of the weld quicker
