I've researched the hell out of Tigs this past year. This time last year I was set to bin the old Clarke MIG and buy a barely used Lorch MicorTig200 - but the guy got cold feet, then decided not to sell. I've been busy bricklaying all year so I didn't weld much at all. So did some more research and soul-searching. Now I'm in two minds. Buy a cheap Miller STH 160 with a couple of decent CK torches and a foot pedal |or| Buy the Lorch MicorTig 200 BasicPlus and a couple of DD torches (but no pedal). Twice the price, but I want welds to be proud of (even though I'm learning). I tend to be pretty neat wth most tools, as I was a signwriter for a couple of decades before I packed it in to be an art director. My wife says I'm not allowed to look at welders anymore and have to make a decision.
