I know this is a welding forum an all
But have been out buying bits for my Herbert Flashcap 2D lathe, and picked up some more collet's for it. I generally use a 3 jaw but sometimes I have to change over to the collet chuck for ease, accuracy etc.
Getting to have a nice collection now, a few metric sizes, 12, 16, 20, 25, 26, 28, 32, 36 and 41mm.
Imperial in 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, 7/8, 15/16?, 1, 1 & 1/4, 1 & 5/16 and 1 & 1/2 inch.
Even got some hex, never used them yet:-
3/8 AF,
0.6 AF, which is 5/16 Wworth; 3/8 BSF.
3/4 AF
0.82 AF, which is 7/16 Wworth; 1/2 BSF
0.92 AF, which is 1/2 Wworth; 9/16 BSF
1.01 AF, which is 9/16 Wworth; 5/8 BSF
1.30 AF, which is 3/4 Wworth; 7/8 BSF
Have some duplicates as one does when you buy job lots and 3 that I can not fathom what size they are?
What I am going to have to do is make a holder for them all to stop them rattling over the floor, now will this be a plasma cutter, welding project or a MDF/Plywood shelf project, poably the wood if I am being sensible steel if not.
