Are they easy to disassemble, & work on? Planning on rewiring mine with rubber flex when I get some. Finding 2 core rubber flex ain't as easy as three core though.

I have 2 of these models, the Henry & Henryeta [one's red & ones pink] great hoovers but mine dont have these offtake sockets on them. Very easy to repair and fix. If it stops working it's most likely to be the carbon bushes , I replaced them for about £6 from ebay .I've also changed the cable too on the Red one ,very simple repairs.

I bought one of the new low wattage Henry vaccums and liked it so much I bought an old 2 switch Hettie for upstairs.I thought the Hettie would have more suck with its boost switch on,but the new eco low watt Henry sucks just like the old hettie when it's on full boost.
Same suck but half the watts - what's not to like?

Even sadder when it's a poor little red Henry, peaking over the edge of a skip, mournfully staring at you with his big googly eyes.

My friends Henry motor went. He bought a cheap unbranded motor replacement.
He recons that his cheap from China motor conforms to zero environmental considerations at all. So the henry now sucks better than it ever did previously.
(I'm actually way more into environmental stuff than most, but I do wonder as to some ideas...)

Like usual, The people who write the restrictive laws don't understand the subject they're legislating. A vacume cleaner with less suction will need to be used for a lot of extra time to pick up all the dirt, thus canceling out any efficiencies benifits the less powerfull motor may have offered. Its the same problem as modern formula paint remover and "Heavy duty" houshold cleaning chemicals. They are so weak that you use 3x the quantity to end up with a less satisfactory job than you got with the the same brand 30 years back. And dont get me started about the weight all that safety equiptment adds to the mass of a car these days. If the government didnt say it HAD to be there, do you think manufacturers would add it? Having a car with ABS, electronic stability control, retracting pedels/steering column, and 30 airbags gives the morons of society a sence of invulnerability and they're more likely to drive WAY beyond their abilitys ! Not having it means less mass for the engine to drag around, so more MPG, and less enviromentally damaging gases produced.

I was out in the car with SWMBO and saw this little red guy on the pavement and had to go and have a look. Thinking the guy had left it outside after cleaning his car, the guy said “no mate, we’ve bought a new Dyson. We usually leave our waste there for others to take” I asked would he mind if I took it and he said no it was fine so it’s now in my garage performing as it should. Gave my lad my aqua valet vac so he’s benefitted too.

Ten screws (torx or pozi, depending on age) is all it takes to dismantle. Everything apart from the motor is washable.
If changing the cable, do not forget to put the cable through the guide before fixing on the plug (and make sure the outside of the guide is pointing towards the plug).
The weakness of them seems to be the plastic bit where the stainless tube enters. All my foundlings have it split. Someone should market a stainless oversheath for that part, cut to the correct chamfer.
The bush that holds the big wheels on is poorly designed. Remove hubcaps and put a penny washer under the screw head for longer life.
