Hi,
I have just bought a ROHR HP-160L Tig & Arc Welder.
I have just tried to use the Tig to weld some Aluminium, but it won't heat the tungsten?
I have the Gas fitted, no leaks, comes out when the trigger is pressed, the amps, set to Tig, ground my tungsten to a point, but it's not heating up?
The ROHL manual says to connect the earth clamp to the metal and strike an arc, but that can't be right?? That's for Arc Welding, isn't it???
This is my first time Tig welding but my understanding is it's like gas welding, no earth clamp or striking required.
Any advise would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.
