Help with set up of foot pedal

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and new to tig welding. I just got a lincoln tig plant and it came with a miller foot pedal. The pedal has 5 cables that come out and connect to a 6 pin connector. Wired it up in what we thought was the right way but it didnt seem to work. My questions are...first off can you use a miller pedal on a lincoln machine in the first place? And if so will it work with that connector? Its the right one for the machine just got a little put off by the fact that its 5 cables to 6 pins.

Its a square wave 255 lincoln. Possibly a setting i have missed on the machine also??

Which Miller pedal do you have? Some only work with specific Miller machines.

Unused pins in TIG torch and foot pedal/remote plugs is common. There is no standard regarding remotes... potentiometer values, plug types or wiring pinout can all vary even within one manufacturers line up. That said if the machine came with this pedal there's a reasonable chance it's compatible or has been modified* to be. * The internet suggests the lincoln k870 foot pedal uses a 5W 10k ohm pot while miller, i think, have settled on 2W 1k ohm these days

Cheers for the replies. Sorry it's taken so long to get back. Been v busy with work. The only details on the pedal are two stickers...one says
RFC-14
129 339
The other says
Kh-03
I am assuming this worked with the machine before but I wanted to re do the electrics as the guy had some very questionable (scary!) connections in various places.
Taking the panel off the side of the machine I can see one pin is not used just trying to find a diagram that shows what order the 5 cables go into the connector.
Hoping pic of pedal is attached.
What it was doing, I should add, was making the HF turn on constantly and the gas was flowing constantly with it. There was no diff between start and continuous. I noticed that the way the wires are soldered was with the connector upside down if that makes sense.

Figured it out. Finally got a few diagrams and it seems to all be working correctly. Again thanks for the help those who replied.
