Hello, i have a SIP150 turbo and ive owned it for a long time and its been good to me recently tho ive been experianing problems basically the weld is fine for a second or so then goes bad (bad being similar simptoms to a bad earth) ive tried new tip and shroud, new liner new earth lead and clamp, ive cleaned all the connections up too, and ive cleaned all the paint off the metal im welding before welding! it will tack and spot weld fine but as soon as i try a run it goes bad
TBH i'm unsure if its a wire feed problem or a electrical problem - ive tested tip to earth and its 80v (or there abouts) but that is with no load on.
one thing i have noticed is one of the wire connections going to the feed motor was burned so i replaced it with a new crimped connection and have done a bit of welding (plug welding - which it can still do) and looked again and it is discolured allready, there is a componant in parralel witht the wire feed motor [zenamic Z15L560 9L] which i am told is a metal oxide varistor - could this be knackered and anything to do with it???
Many thanks for your help
