Help with HITACHI 350A DT-CAP 2VL welder

Hi from Croatia

Maybe someone has got manuals/service manuals for MIG/MAG HITACHI 350A DT-CAP 2VL welder?
I have this old machine and I have problem with it. I am trying to repair it but it is very difficult without service manuals.
And almost impossible to find any sales representative here in Europe..

Any help would be appreciated

Can't help with manuals, but have used Hitachis a fair bit.

Hi,

Thanks for your replay.

First we replaced the one IGBT module because it was defected but still there is a problem.
When we try to start welding nothing happens... only yellow warning led light turns on front panel and led light on mother board..

When IGBTs go short-circuit, they often conduct high voltages from the collector/emitter circuits through to the gate. This destroys the gate driver circuitry. You need to trace the circuit path from the gate of the IGBT module back to the control logic, and check it. There may be Zener diodes, resistors, a dedicated driver chip or a pulse transformer involved.
Another problem can be that installing a new IGBT with the gate driver still damaged can self-charge the capacitance of a floating gate. The IGBT will then conduct fully on, and blow itself up again. Therefore you would need to investigate and check the components on the gate before risking a new IGBT.

Hello,

I would ask if someone have user manual for this welding machine HITACHI DT-CAP2 VL. We have bought second hand machine but unfourtunaly we got it without documentation. Now we want to connect it to welding robot but without documentation we are unable to achieve it. For us is accetable wirring to analog output of control unit or some type of digital comunication but in this case we need manual how to adress variables. I think that easiest way is to use analog output from robot controler to control the machine remotely (we dont have pinout of remote conector so we are unable to use it in this maner without manual). Also we have find another conector on back-top of welding machine which we dont know for what is used(looks like digital comunication cable). I hope that someone can help me with manuals.
