There's one of these fitted to my 1ph table saw. It stopped working part way through a cut, no smoke nor noise, it just slowed down as if the power had been cut off.
I checked if there was power and if the fuse was good. There was, and it was. Next I checked the switch. First was to bypass it with jumper wires between the connectors. Yay, the saw starts and runs, so I ordered a new switch.
I fitted the new switch and it won't start. The part I'm thinking about is between contacts 6 and A1 on the diagram. I removed the switch, reconnected all the jumpers except the connector on A1 and tried the saw again, it didn't run. Reconnect A1 and all is good.
My meter shows no conductivity, no bleep on diode setting, between 6 and A1 on either switch. Is this right, and if not is the new switch defective. It was supplied by a reputable company via Ebay.
I've fitted a simple 2 pole rocker switch in its place and as long as A1 is connected the saw runs.
