if you are going to turn it on its side which you can do all you need is 2 hinges and a lock mechanism

also a new sill if you want to turn it

get those from plastic window places

It's getting to the point where you miss loads of stuff by not having Facebook. I created an account that doesn't have my name on it and don't have any friends registered. I haven't even got my wife or kids as all that will do is prompt a load of friend requests. It can be tricky to create an account as Facebook will stop it if it thinks it's not genuine.

It's worth doing, what you will find in the early days is you get all kinds of weird stuff, I was getting friend recommendations of half naked women. It looked really suspisious but it eventually stopped. It takes a while before you get access to market place, not sure of the timescales but it just suddenly appears.

I did the same, I find Facebook just eats in to your time, but it can be good for finding good info Chinese diesel heaters page was a great help. But I do know for a fact employers etc stalk Face book to find out about you, so I post almost nothing, have one friend and not my real name on the account.

There is no way you would walk in to a new job or pub and tell everyone your date of birth,where you live,what car you drive,what your politica/ethical views are,what time and where you shop,when you are on holiday,when you are out for the evening yet there are millions of people who provide that information to everyone who is prepared to look.

There are some real bargains to be had on Marketplace and it's also got to the point many businesses only have a presence on Facebook

Me too, I sometimes get emails from forums that say Happy Birthday then I remember that I'd put some random date in.

For those sites which insist on DoB etc I find it useful to use today's date but real year for both the DoB and core of the password. Obviously using one of my several 'junk' gmail accounts. Save it in Firefox then promptly forget it.

I’m only on Facebook to view the local history site, I have no friends, everything’s turned off that can be, but it is incredibly subversive, it keeps coming up with friend recommendations of people I haven’t seen or spoken to in 40 years, how! The other thing is, it keeps requesting access to my files, address book & photos, they must be having a laugh, I’m not going to allow that! My son is employed in internet security, he won’t go on Facebook or LinkedIn, this must say something.
