Help Please

Hi, this is my first post. I just bought my first MIG of Ebay and im having some problems. The wire seems to stop coming through after a few seconds. I adjust it and its fine, then it just suddenly stops ?

Its a Clarke 150 EN , does anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

Hi Morgan, a few things that may help you;
Does it only happen while you're welding or also while you're feeding the wire without welding?
Is the tip the correct size for the wire and are the wire and tip in good condition? (if the wire is rusty, strip off as much of it as you need to to get down to the shiny stuff again)
Is the wire wound properly? 'layer wound' wire will come off the reel much smoother than 'random wound'. (try a different reel, I've had them in the past which simply will not feed and a new one sorted it instantly)
Does the feed motor rotate at a constant speed with the tension backed right off or does it start fast then slow down?
When you say 'adjust' it, what are you altering, wire speed of tension?
Is the liner blocked? (remove the contact tip and blow dry, compressed air through the torch liner, it may be full of rust dust from the wire)

Sweet! Nice easy, cheap fix then . They get worn and damaged over time causing the wire to snag as the tip and wire heat up. They do vary in quality too, better quality ones seem to last longer than cheapies.
Glad it's sorted, now get !
