help on forming an outer sill from 4"by 4" box section.

have a Vauxhall frontera 4by4. The outer driver side sill is totally rotton and has been cut off . there are no panel suppliers anyware that make or supply these sills,I have some 4by4inch electrical square trunking and would like to make it from that.can any one point me in the right direction please.I have a clarke 151 en mig welder and im quite experienced, but nned help in forming the sill.thanks electronwilly.

Hello EW,

it all depends on the shape of the sill, if it's curved in section you'll be better off with flat sheet. Another option is a sill from another car that could be modified? Do you have any pictures?

I made some karmann ghia sills by rolling some 6x1 inch angled steel around a scaffold pole to curve the edge, probably also saved about £50.
