Howdoooo.
I have myself an Esab LHE 260 MMA welder. I have used this on a 3 phase supply and it is a little belter - not pretty, but a good welder. I would like to use this on a single phase supply and looking at whats left of the data label on the back, it would seem to suggest this is possible. I have rigged it up on 240 and although the fan works (slower than on 3 ph), and it will arc - just - it doesn't seem to be doing the job. I wonder if there is anyone out there who can help. I have attached a photo of the connection inside the welder - the three bottom terminals are L1, L2 and L3, and is where i removed the three phase cable from. When i connected up the 240, i connected to these terminals with live and neutral in different orders to see if anything happened. I presume because there is a potential difference between live and neutral as there is a potential difference between phases something happened, but i certainly won't be doing much with it. I have also attached a couple of photos of the label to see if that helps. Any feedback much appreciated. Regards, Paul.
