help needed

Hi guys. I have a semi automatic bandsaw and some bits have been taken to fix another machine at work.
I have asked about buying it and they are prepared to sell it..question is this.
What would I need to
1. Get blades working
2. Hydraulic up and down
3. Clamps opening and shutting

Basically wiring it so instead of cnc it will be manual

Sounds like a money pit to me? have you thought about the reason it was being cannibalised to feed another machine?

Who knows what's wrong with it? Without taking it apart and spending time on it no one can guess, especially not just by looking at a picture of it.

I'd say it's a scrapper that's sitting ready to eat your cash. Be careful that parts availability is difficult now for some older machines like that one.

I don't want to make it automatic just do the basic three things...I can purchase for a few hundred quid...
Surely it can be made to turn..lift..and close
Not interested in the feed working.

Like above..Surely it's just power and some switches? And then wired up to do just that?
Would a normal electrician be able to do that?

a few hundred quid? that sounds a lot more than I would risk with it, for a few hundred you could get a nice new bandsaw.

There's a few on the bay. It's a money pit , I'd be looking at 50 quid rather than a couple of hundred quid for something that's been cannibalised.

All sorts solid round to big box section and pfc to..but on a medium scale not hobby

Starting point would be a wiring diagram or a bit of investigation to make your own...

It would be dead simple to convert to fully manual (lift it yourself, do up the clamp yourself, gravity feed - possibly damped).

Anything 'automated' would be more work, but if it's hydraulically actuated then it's only plumbing once you power up the pump

Hello King Welder,

1 Is the drive motor in position, if so just a switch and contactor (maybe the contactor is still there)?
2 Is the hydraulic pump and valves still there, even without the valves you could use a small hand valve.
3 Is the clamping cylinder still there, again a small hand valve to operate.

Given the above I'd be happy to pay a hundred pounds for, if one or more of the above are missing I wouldn't bother.

All.mechanical parts are intact. Just pcb board and lcd screen missing and a few connectors inside control box

Good grief I should go for it there are people on here building thier own cnc plasma cutters when you can get lasercutting done out way better at a song
Sounds like a proper saw and often the guy who capitalises a machine hasn't paid for the donor and knows or cares little of cost
