Help needed please! What size tapered thread is this?

Thank you all for your contributions; I ordered a PCL elbow on eBay soon after posting yesterday - no doubt when it arrives it'll be the wrong size but it'll at least give me a datum!

I bloody hate anything that isn't metric...

Trust me when I say Ive seen someone try connecting up high pressure hoses…..he eventually was nicknamed stripper as in thread stripper, he didnt last long!

When i got my 275bar jetter, the previous bright spark owner had taken a JIC flared female fitting and paired it with a 1/2"BSP male adapter. Obviously the threads are different and being back to back internal cone faces, it didn't seal very well, in spite of the thread tape. The first time I pushed it over 200bar the two fittings parted ways, and that's when I found out

Mmmmm yep, he did similar too…scary really considering he was supposed to have 10 years experience pumping nitrogen for Halliburton.
