Help in Cumbria!

Was meant to be welding new engine mounts on tomorrow morning, borrowed a mates welder as mines too big to carry over or even get powered up here!

The little buzz box I've borrowed doesn't like the 7018 rods I've brought with me so would anyone near ulverston have some welding rods I could buy off them tomorrow ? Only need a few to do some mounts or if not another welder perhaps ?

Im in Kendal, got some 2.5mm 6013's you can have if you want FOC.

Managed to get my mate to get some from kendal metal works as he was passing through on his way to help me!

Thanks for the kind offer though, was panicking a bit not being able to get it all welded up on the day but engine and gearbox are now in and aren't moving anywhere

No problem mate, glad you got it sorted, why did he get them from kmw? Did they just give him a few? Tg's sell decent ones. Or electrocal in Milnethorpe, can't think of anyone else around Kendal?

Yeah just gave him a handful

TG only sell SIF and I think they're worse than useless tbh, ESAB ones are special order from them but I won't be using TG's for welding rods again given some of the prices on them

Either be buying online or see how much electrocal are, KMW only use ESAB and they burned lovely when I fired up the welder again on monday

Am sure the box I got from them last weren't sif?? Maybe some they'd ordered special? I agree they are overpriced though. Electrocal are worth a look, the guys there have always been mire than helpful, even sorted me my welder cheap as when I was wanting one.

Is there anyone in barrow or around that area?

Not sure about barrow tbh, would need to google but there might be given that its a welding area!
