be warned you can pay double to tripple price on reclaimed tiles if alot are broke and they do break as they are brittle you can pay near on a new roof price with them

or you can look for double pan tile and look for reroofed and then removed newish roof tiles i needed 8 packs new i found 10 packs with some chips out on some of them on a roof replacement bought in error tiles wrong pitched roof tile bought

bargain for me they was collected in a transit van took 3 trips to get the lot so that also needed fuel as well price was well under 8 packs of new tiles because they was only 2-3 year old and can get new replacements for the roof

for start off your dealing with oldish tiles they will be brittle be careful when taking them off
its strip off fast strip the old felt off and laths denail it all and then refelt it to get it water tight on high slopes you strip off and denail it before you start on the next strip off make sure its denailed before you move lower

as goes for finding them you want special places that deal with old tiles and there hard to find hence the reason why many replace them

i replaced mine at a fraction of the cost, the bargains are out there get looking

as i have replaced roof tiles often there is a quick way to do so but one person cant do it
its a 2 man job and that includes boarding to slide each tiles down it 3 man when your shifting the weight off the scaffolding or you use a belt lift

yours will be new felt and new laths after ripping everything off and your roof will last another 50-70 years

use the double laths method felt first then a lath following the rackers and then the slaters lath though you might not beable to do it if theres adjorning roofs

Oh yes which is why the hunt has/is on for me and has been for a while.

As I'm removing the ridge tiles and some of those may well break along with the top most tiles and any others hence I need replacements as a go to.

Some great advice Gaz and much appreciated, slider boards had not occurred to me.

The property is two storey high, my intention is to have scaffolding erected strong enough to store 2-3 rows of existing tiles on before relaying them, I might have to rethink this as it's a lot of weight for scaffolding.
