Help Identifying this Lathe

Hello,

I purchased this mini lathe which is around 7x10.
It has no makers marks on it, is anyone able to identify it?

The base plate, motor and lathe assembly definitely look like someone combined them together.
The lathe looks very 'modular' and simple in construction, but it's made from cast iron which would be difficult to cast at home so surely it had to be manufactured by someone with casting and machining facilities?

Hmm, that does make a difference. From the photos it looks like channel.

I guess you could try posting it on the antique section of Practicalmachinist.

well its a flameproof motor so its not the original one that was fitted it looks as if its been on a petrol pump

Yeah motor is out of place.

Do you know if "Type: RI" on the plate refers to the motor being repulsion start? There is no obvious capacitor or centrifugal click.

I'm also interested in finding out how old the motor is, I believe that Tuscan engineering moved from London to Bridgend which is local to me, and is now part of STS motors as rtbcomp stated. Might email the S/N to them.

Might try the antique section of Practical Machinist as Pete suggested.
