help building project steering shafts and joints

I am build a project I need some steering joint and tube for the shaft along with bearing to hold up the column. I was look in the breaker yard seen nothing but I would rather build a new 100percent new column. I seen some joint in usa they are smooth bore you bolt and weld them don't see any this side of the world. What bits do you all use do you have any advice on where to get the parts.

Most people favour the 3/4"double D system these days, it's very easy to fit.

depends exactly what you want and how pretty you want it looking.Joints are available in all sorts of sizes including numerous combinations with splines on one end/both ends, different size splines on both ends

if you copy the above or are using a similar set up, do note the support "rose" supporting the shaft, and get your joints phased when fitted---in phase

thanks for the help where do I get the bits?

I stock them but would need to know you intentions, i.e. spline you intend to go on to ?

I can also supply splined stainless UJ's and splined shaft but I would avoid using them as the splined stainless shaft is pricey.

Here here on that, only use a splined joint to connect at the rack or column thats whats there to connect to.
